The ADD-A-TRIP PROGRAMS may be just what you are looking for to make your week at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base even better. Come join us for a day trip of whitewater rafting on the world famous Ocoee River or an evening trip to Stone Mountain Park watching the ever-popular Laser Show. No matter what you choose, you will definitely enjoy it!

Arrangements must be made four weeks in advance and all fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to arrival at camp.

Note: Only good for Camp Thunder Units and on Highlander Outback Challenge, Whitewater Outback, 50 Mile Afoot/Afloat Programs.

Thursday Thunder
A little Adventure! Legends Racing at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Plan now to join us for a evening trip to the magnificent Atlanta Motor Speedway, home for NASCAR racing twice a year. Either way it will be a time to remember. Minimum Group size: (6) Fees: $20.00 per person.

Fees cover: Entrance fees, transportation, meals.
Available only on Thursdays. Troops participating will leave camp at 5:00 p.m. and return at 11:00 a.m. Bring ear protection and rain gear.

Reservations for Thursday Thunder must be made 2 weeks prior to your arrival.

Rafting the Ocoee
Travel to and raft the world famous Ocoee River. The challenges of Class III-IV rapids will test your nerves and stamina. Be ready to "DIG-IN" for the ride of your life! After the rafting trip we will stop at "Hamburger Row" for supper. You will be talking about this one for years to come!

Arrangements must be made four weeks in advance and all fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to arrival at camp. 

Age Requirement: Must be 12 years of age
Fees: Minimum 6 people -- $75.00 per person
Fees will cover: Rafting fees, transportation and fuel costs, "Mega-Bar" supper, and program staff fees.

Stone Mountain Laser Show
One of the highlights of any trip to Georgia is a visit to Stone Mountain Park. This is one show you don't want to miss! Your trip to Stone Mountain Park will include a meal at "Hamburger Row" and admission to watch the Laser Show on Stone Mountain. A NIGHT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET!!!

Arrangements must be made four weeks in advance and all fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to arrival at camp. 

Limited to Tuesday and Wednesday
Fee: $25.00 per person
Fees will cover: Entrance fees into the park, transportation and fuel cost, a fast food meal and program staff fees.

FDR's Little White House
More than 60 years after his death, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt is recognized as one of the Nation's greatest Presidents. This trip includes a visit to the historic pools used by President Roosevelt himself, a tour of the Roosevelt Institute for Rehabilitation and the Little White House.

Fee: $25.00 per person
Fees cover: Entrance fees, transportation and southern cooked meal.

Flint River Tubing
On the western side of Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base is the Lawhorn Scout Base.  This is a half day trip that requires an Adult Leader to have a current Safe Swim Defense training card. All participants must wear a PFD at all times.

Available only on Friday
Fees: $5.00 per person
Fees cover: Tube, PFD, and shuttle transportation.
Minimum Group Size: 6
