Boy Scout Outdoor Programs

Boy Scouts have many different opportunities for outdoor adventure. Below are upcoming activities and events that are held at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base and in the Flint River Council. Many activities await you and your Scouts in the outdoors. Everything from the thrill of experiencing the natural beauty, to earning patches and advancement, to taking part in the special activities planned by your district.

You have many opportunities to camp at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base. Below are some of the outdoor activities that your troop can participate in. As always, the staff at the reservation are ready to help you plan an activity that your Scouts will remember for many years to come.



Summer Camp
A week of fun and camping at Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base for your Troop. Boy Scout Summer Camp is held during the months of June and July and provide opportunities for new Boy Scouts, experienced Boy Scouts and Scouts wishing to test their high adventure skills.


High Adventure Camp and Beyond
For older Scouts, the high adventure program is built to provide a challenge to those Scouts who have the courage to meet it.

Winter Camp
You can join the staff at the Gerald I. Lawhorn Scouting Base for a camping experience during the winter. You will find merit badges, outdoor activities and much more.


Boy Scout Year Round Programs
You will find an adventure that can be tailored for the needs and desires of your troop. Don't miss a chance for kayaking, geocaching, mountain climbing, rappellilng and much more.
