Training

You are invited to follow the pathway of adult leader development that Baden-Powell began in 1918. The quality of the Scouting program that we bring to the boys is dependent upon the quality and capability of the unit's adult leaders.

The leadership training philosophy of the Boy Scouts of America is to provide adult leaders with fundamental information about the aims and purposes of the movement, as well as specifies about their particular roles in Scouting.

A trained leader is knowledgable and confident in the role of being performed. The knowledge and confidence of a trained leader are quickly sensed by Cub, Boy, Varsity or Venture Scouts and are a positive influence on their lives.

To achieve our aims in the Flint River Council, we will offer training at different times in each District. If you cannot attend training in your local community, please feel free to attend training in another District.

In order to provide you with all the required material pre-registration is required of all training sessions in the Flint River Council. Walk-ins are more than welcome, but it is understood that walk-ins may not receive all the required handouts.

What does it take to be considered "Trained"? Requirements are different for each position.
