District Committee Orientation
District Operation Training will take place, Monday, January 26, 2009, at Henry Co. Medical Center, Education Building. This orientation will help our district volunteers understand their role and function in the Tussahaw district. We also encourage Unit Chartered Organization Representatives (COR) to attend this important meeting.
District Banquet
Here’s your chance to recognize that outstanding volunteer that has shown strong Scouting spirit! Awards will be presented and the highlight of the evening will be the District Award of Merit. The Banquet committee asks that you submit those names of your nomination before or by January 9, 2009. The banquet will be held at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church. All Leaders, Parents and guest are welcome. Review the Tussahaw website for time, cost and contact for questions.
Recharter Reminder
District Commissioner, Kevin Moss is asking that all recharters be completed for turn in by the 15th of the unit recharter month. All signatures and funds must be turned in to the Scout office by that date. If you need assistance, contact your unit commissioner or Wayne Dalton.
Day Camp Preparation
Unit leaders are encouraged to promote Cub Scout Day Camp to their boys and parents. Day Camp is scheduled for June 8-12, 2009. Online Registration will begin in April. Summer Camp
Spend some time at your January Troop Meetings and promote this year’s Summer Camp at Thunder! If you do not have the Camp DVD, contact Wayne Dalton. Call to confirm your spot at Camp now. Presentations will be held at monthly Roundtables, with up-to-date information.
Family Friends of Scouting Presentations
All unit FOS presentation dates should be set and David DeSantis, Family Chairman, will have the materials you need to conduct your presentation. If you have any questions, contact Dave at 404-345-6453. We want to continue providing strong programs from the funds we raise in our FOS Campaign.
